The Joint Freeing Series is for everyone, and especially helpful to those with chronic pain, arthritis (osteoarthritis), and physical stiffness from over/underuse injuries. The Joint Freeing Series helps your body learn new pathways and patterns of movement that with regular use can help increase mobility, flexibility, and reduce stiffness and pain in the joints. The series includes movements for the ankles, knees, hips, lower/upper spine, neck, shoulders, and wrists. No previous experience needed to attend the workshop. All movements can be done on a mat and/chair and modifications will be provided. Each participant will receive a JFS handout.
Brain & Stress: A Yoga Therapy Approach
This workshop series will combine counselling and yoga therapy with neuroscience to learn and understand how the brain and nervous system respond to stress and how we can empower ourselves to help manage the stress response.
In this workshop, we will learn the basics of neuroscience and how to apply the knowledge to our own experience. You will develop skills of self-assessment with the Stress Bell-Curve, and explore the benefits and buffers of stress and develop an awareness of our own stress response. We will practice and learn about the benefits of yoga therapy for managing stress as we develop greater self-awareness, connection and ease.
You can expect a Yoga Therapy practice including meditation, mantras, visualizations, breath work, guided relaxation, and mindful movement combined with education and time for self-reflection.
